Louboutin is a true visionary from its collection to its campaign. What a creative way to incorporate narratives to add excitement for their lookbook. Here are the three elements I love about the film.

Genre

The genre of the film is clearly a French detective noir. This type of film lends itself very easily to being detail orientated, which is apt for the collection, since it consists intricate detail

Character

While it is a silent film, the characters still have a logical purpose in the film, to tell the classic detective story.

The way in which the characters are dressed and portrayed are very much cliché, to showcase their persona, and mute out their clothing. This draws more attention towards unusual parts of the film, such as the brightly coloured and extravagant shoes, bags, and cosmetics.

Detective clad in trench coat, stride up in stilettos and tote bag, meanwhile the maid, wearing classic black and white uniform paired with pink pumps. Still from the film.

Cinematic Scene

Scene in neutral setting, with a pop of red to reminisce of a fatal affair. The victim in a shiny ensemble with the thigh-high Amazoula heels still strapped on.

The scene itself, was also done well with intention; there was no blood at the crime scene and the tones used for the setting were very much neutral. However Louboutin’s signature red-lacqueared details was strategically used to reminisce of a fatal scene.

The crime scene was also wittingly treated as a cinematic showcase of its intricate collection, as the red-soled, spiked stilettos were strewn across the floor, alongside the ornate louboutin lipsticks and nail colour. The commanding screen time was then the detective gazing at the artwork of sandals through a magnifying glass.

Such an enticing & ingenious way of showcasing their lookbook, I cant wait to not be able to afford their stuff!
