PALESTRATO : Motivational Active wear

Watch the sneak peak of Palestrato's behind the scenes video by Mamad A.K.

The countdown to the launch of Palestrato’s clothing line is on, and is going to be released after Chinese New Year. Looking good has never felt this motivational.

As my interview with the creator and designer Syaima has revealed, the clothing line is only a stepping stone to a bigger vision that Palestrato has for Brunei. (including Menswear BTW).

A better fitness experience

The brand hopes to give a more positive connotation to sports and healthy eating. With the wrong type of clothing, we can easily feel too hot or uncomfortable doing sports, leading to a bad experience. The design of her clothing line is really well thought out, from choosing materials to innovating a blend of fabrics, it has been made to feel as comfortable as a second skin, effective sweat wicking, and slimming just by wearing it.

Syaima's decision to make clothing she is looking for, is reflective of the message she wants to get across to others; there are many different ways to enjoy an active lifestyle. You do not have to bookshelf yourself into doing something you find boring just because its popular.

Energizing your fitness

Regarding the design of the collection, comfortable and bright spring to mind. The choice of bright tones were influenced by the psychological aspect of colour; dark colours can lower our mood and energy, whereas the bright clothing will bring you out of your comfort zone and inspire you to move.

Revolutionizing the Brunei Fashion Scene

Active wear has been trending since fashion week 2014, but not in brunei. She chose to start this brand as she wanted something that is both functional as well as aesthetically pleasing, that can transition between exercise, and going out and about; something that will fit the lifestyle of an active person.

The shoot meant to be inspired

The concept of the shoot was to inspire people through portraying strength in yoga and calisthenics. The people involved in the shoot are active members of the fitness community, such as Mamad A.k and Muaz Rosman, who have a belief in its benefits. By incorporating their passion in such as videography and fitness, they were able to create images and video that is truly epic and made to inspire.

Turning Impossible into Possible

Syaima aspires to bridge the gap between fitness enthusiasts and beginners. When people see that anyone can wear her clothing, they will realise that everyone is striving towards a common goal, that we are all equally capable.

Giving back to the community

The brand believes in educating people on the benefits of having an active lifestyle. Being aware that food is fuel, and that treats should not become a habit could significantly reduce the risk of health problems, and essentially give a positive impact to the economy by reducing the cost of health care in the country.

Life is too short to wear clothing without a cause.
